Shakila Islam is an Advocate and a Barrister-at-Law, called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, UK.

Shakila’s practice primarily focuses on corporate and commercial law, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, and cross-border transactions. Since joining the chambers in 2020, she has been involved in share acquisitions, corporate restructuring, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, and complex commercial transactions for both local and international clients. She regularly works on transaction structuring, legal due diligence, regulatory approvals, and post-transaction compliance.

Her practice also includes involvement in loan documentation, security creation and enforcement, and regulatory compliance. She has further been involved in matters concerning foreign investment, particularly in the power, energy, healthcare, and RMG sectors.

Beyond her core practice, she is involved in company law, commercial contracts, employment matters, as well as related disputes.

Alongside her legal practice, she has served as a part-time lecturer at Bhuiyan Academy, a recognised teaching centre of the University of London.
